A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation, Volume 4
by Misaki, Momochi, Sando
★★★★★
200 Pages
I am utterly in love with this series.
The art. The visuals. The storytelling. The pacing. The characters.
It has everything I could want from a series and more.
In this volume, we get a continuation of Volume 3's theater storyline. But, we also get a lot of backstory about the intriguing Eleven, a character recently introduced in small doses. I loved his character, and the way that Lizel responds to him.
As always, Gil and Lizel's friendship is so remarkably well written. I can feel the brewing bromance/romance between them, but I also love their friendship and their natural chemistry with each other. Gil began as standoffish and separate from the rest of the adventurers, but Lizel really brought him out of his shell, and I love to see how much more often he smiles and appreciates Lizel's hidden talents. In contrast, Gil is helping Lizel to become more self-aware, more world-aware, and really trust in himself and his instincts.
I always give a little internal squee whenever Judge and Studd appear. I have this sneaky feeling Lizel is trying to set them up with each other, which would just be the cutest thing ever!
