I quit this one early on. I LOVE the opening scene with the dinosaurs, wish the whole book was like that. But as usual with monster stories, there’s too much focus on the humans and they are lackluster.
There is way too much casual (unchallenged) misogyny and racist stereotypes. This is a white dude’s fantasy in the ickiest way possible. With greedy cheating wives and sexy young Asian girl love interest. And a racist caricature of an Asian American man who speaks in broken English.
I think I’ll be happier with the movie adaptation. Give me a sassy Jason Statham monster movie over this pretentious jerk-off fantasy any day.
