So, personally this isn’t my genre of choice, I read it for uni. That being said, the themes explored were incredibly significant and important and portrayed in a really interesting way. I’m going to read a few criticisms and try to understand everything better because I definitely think it deserves to be appreciated properly which I currently cannot do. I found it boring, because colonialism isn’t quite my cup of tea, but I found the clash between Marlow and Kurtz the best bit, because Kurtz was some superhuman godlike figure until Marlow actually met him and realised it was all a facade. It was hard to know how to feel about Marlow, because deep down he seemed to care and have a good heart but he was a FAT racist (which I guess is the point). But I will be back once I have more insight.
