Les Enfants de la Volga by Guzel Yakhina

Did not finish book. Stopped at 29%.
The narration was pretty and the thematics interesting but the way that
the rape of Klara was handled didn't sit well with me. Who would be happy to have the child of their rappist ? And of course she had to die in childbirth after that *eyeroll*
. The stereotypical description of non-white characters was also disturbing to me.
