Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills
5.0

I BAWLED. I AM STILL BAWLING. ONCE THE WATERWORKS STARTED, THERE WAS NO GOING BACK. this book is the equivalent of a warm hug on a truly crappy day with the unrelenting rain hammering at your window panes and the chill seeping through your skin, under your veins, all the way down to the marrow of your bones. this book is the first few weeks of spring that smell like fresh new beginnings, the assurance that you can and will slowly adjust to changes (which may be for better or for worse; you don't know what they'll be yet, but you know you'll get through them, just like you always do). this book is everything that i needed but never knew i did, and just like TION (kenji!) filled a void in iris's life, this book filled mine with laughter and delight and smirks at all the claudiagideon shipping and hinting throughout this whole book and the found family trope and all the oh-so-lovable-and-equally-GENUINE characters. this book will remind you that hey, the world is scary! the world is unfair and miserable and awful! and bad things happen (to good people too) sometimes! but this book (and claudiagideon and irispaige and zoealex and everybody else!) exists!! and you are never alone! and if you're having a bad day, this book will always be here for you (and so will i, talk to me if u need to!)!! with that said, reading this has cemented my belief that friendship is magic (AND SO IS CLAUDIAGIDEON.) this entire novel was written so well and everything tied up together really nicely, and i enjoyed it so extremely much. if i had to describe how foolish hearts made me feel, i'd say (iris quote very much intended) it could be summed up with: f*cking. incandescent. and now i'm feeling extremely superfluous (now that's an SAT word!!!) with this lengthy review (which some might say is fifty percent longer than a subway sub and definitely very jam-packed with foolish hearts references so just go ahead and pick it up already) so it's time to wrap it up! clearly this is a new favourite and a fab choice to start the month with, 1038u4983248932423/10, highest of highliest highlies recommend and would most certainly read again

reread #1: I JUST COULDN'T RESIST GAWD I MISSED THEM SO MUCHA. ALSO BAWLED AGAIN #JUSTCLAUDIAGIDEONTHINGS
