The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin
4.0

It's so hard to wrap my head around the fact that this was written in the 60s! (Hint: That's one of the reasons this is so great!)

I wish this had been longer, I wish there had been more character development, I wish there had been some interplanetary sleeping bag sharing, but maybe some of those would have made this story lesser than... It was good, anyway, I'm interested to read more of [author:LeGuin]'s work. I identified so much with the ending; facing those from home and feeling suddenly so alien, so unfamiliar with what once was familiar and clinging so passionately to what had become the norm; reverse culture-shock! It's tough!
