“When the world felt dark and scary, love could whisk you off to go dancing; laughter could take some of the pain away; beauty could punch holes in your fear. I decided then that my life would be full of all three.” ♡

this book was so charming. saw another review say “straight serotonin” & I whole-heartedly agree. short chapters made it super easy to binge & it really felt like you’re watching a summer romance blossom on its own. all the characters felt complete & I was surprised that a lot of the book unfolded naturally at the lake house with very few other locations.

although some scenes were a little cheesy & the dialogue could’ve been a little cliche, I mostly loved the banter between all the characters. would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cup of dopamine with a side of angst/grief.

“There's something tragic, but almost pure. Think I could love you, but I'm not sure…
I like that you're broken, broken like me. Maybe that makes me a fool.” ♬
