I enjoy reading "Smart Pants Romance" books because it's like catching up with old friends who we were introduced to by Penny Reid.
The connection in "Proes Before Hoes" is that it takes place in Green Valley, TN. One of the settings is the library and it involves the ever evolving, always nasty, Wraith MC.
Green Valley plays an almost villainous role in this story. It appears narrow minded, prejudice, stuck in time, and down right nasty.
I admired the female protagonist's strength and guts as well as her love of books. I did not like the male protagonist - I could not connect with him.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I like the way she weaved the tale, I think if it wasn't set in Green Valley, I might have liked it more.
