Prince's Gambit
by C.S. Pacat
January and February 2024 belated.
Intense MM dark romance in a medieval setting. Really enjoyed this, a slow burn enemies to lovers between two princes whose thrones have been usurped and lives are in danger. Damen had killed Laurent’s brother in battle years ago, and now Damen is at Laurent’s mercy as his slave and object of his revenge.
Political and social intrigue and strategy plays a huge role, and later military strategy and prowess, so it may be too plot heavy for someone seeking a fantasy romance, but I loved it. A trilogy with a set of sort stories as a side collection.
I liked it so much that while I borrowed the first ebook from the library, I couldn’t wait for my turn on the waitlist for the rest of the series and thought them ASAP to binge.
“Captive Prince” “Prince’s Gambit” “Kings Rising” and “The Summer Palace and Other Stories” by C.S. Pacat.
