Sleeping Beauties by Owen King, Stephen King

2.0

This was a hard novel to get through. I thought it was because I read The Stand, It, and all the Dark Tower series this year. I thought i had Stephen King-itis, but now I know from a lot of the reviews below that I am not alone. The story was okay, but there were only a couple of characters that I could identify with, and I'm from the South, too. I figured I'd identify with more of them, but I kind of don't like the stereotype of: SOUTHERN ACCENT = METH ADDICTION. I guess, in this day, this the last group of people we can still stereotype and get away with it. I could be wrong and over-reacting some, but it doesn't send a good signal. There are good people that don't succumb to that stuff in all walks of life. It seemed like most of the people in that town were just stupid. There wasn't a well-rounded selection of personalities. I guess if I wanted to be encouraged, this wasn't the book to read.
