This beautiful book is incredibly moving. I was close to tears a few times, and then fully in tears for about the last 20 pages.
It's a simple book in some ways — there's only a handful of characters — but it deals deftly with the complexities of the human heart. It's one of those books you close and you feel the characters are still with you, that they'll always be with you, that you've been changed by the book.
I can't recommend it highly enough.
