The Book of Doors
by Gareth Brown
3.5/5
I enjoyed this one. I loved the premise and found the plot to be really interesting. The way the mystery of the books unravels well and I enjoyed learning about it along with Cassie. While I did like the characters (many of them reminded me of people from my own life, in a good way), I do wish some of them were a bit more fleshed out. I found myself wanting to spend more time with them and the emotional moments with them didn’t land as hard as they maybe could have.
I also found the pacing to be a bit inconsistent, with some parts moving almost too slowly and other parts moving extremely quickly. It didn’t detract too much from my enjoyment though, and I still found a lot to like.
