The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing by Sheila Turnage
5.0

Orry and I read this, the 2nd Mo & Dale mysteries book, driving back and forth from his program in Hoffman Estates. During these weeks, Orry also read (because listening to audiobooks is real reading) books 3 & 4 in this series. Orry and I loved this book. He likes that there’s a larger story being told across all the books— he says the storyline is massive and complex. Orry thought that the paranormal element was a good addition to the mystery. I love Mo’s voice. To me, she’s a classic character in children’s books. She’s surly and slightly manipulative and she’s got everybody’s number in Tupelo Landing. She’s earnest and curious and eager and not afraid of adults. I love these stories.
