I read this as a teen and loved it but remembered nothing of it and was worried it would hold up, but I was so wrong. I don't think I can write a review that could do this book justice, it's so skillful and funny and heartbreaking and absolutely dripping in longing.  Nothing will ever compare to "I am half agony half hope" 

I also though Karen Savage does as excellent job as narrator and really added to my understanding of the unfamiliar language.
