There is not a lot of nuance to this book. That random person you bumped into in chapter X? Turns out she is your neighbor. The person you don’t think you’ll run into in the big city? You immediately do. It was jarring how many of these moments there were, but the story was still engaging and it did transport me to the city of Venice. I enjoyed my literary vacation.
