The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

If I was rating this book critically I would give it a 4/5. Due to the problematic characters, (at times) mundane plot and the fact its probably 800 pages too long. However I think for these exact reasons I loved it. The attention to detail presented through Tartt’s exquisite yet easy writing style built a complete world that I could escape to- exactly what I needed.
