The Evening and the Morning
by Ken Follett
Like all the Kingsbridge books, they were well thought out and I loved all the ways in which persons of power could unjustly control those without. (Really not too different than today it seems.)
I’m no historian, but the details seem to be accurate. At one point in the story, they mentioned Christmas Eve was on a Saturday. On a whim, I checked it out to be true.
The antagonists were deplorable. The protagonists were lovable and the plot fantastic. If you like historical fiction and have enjoyed other books of the Kingsbride series, you need to put thin on your “To Read” list.
