I think I pulled a classic me, jumping into a book in the middle of the series! That being said, I felt lost until about half way through. I finally started to feel like I could connect with the characters in the book. I found a few references that felt out of place to the world created in Sea of Stars. However the book was still beautifully constructed. Even with a slow start, it wasn't the worst book I've read. Space crafts and Sci-Fi, just aren't my thing, I guess.
