This was a really powerful book, because it looked beyond the obvious, to the people left behind after horrific events occur. The really sad part of this book was that it showed just how rife bullying is, and the devastating consequences that can follow. It doesn't try to give answers, but instead to help the reader develop empathy.
Quite sad really, it's clear that for none of the characters, life will ever be the same again, and their innocence is lost. However, it is also a joyous and positive book that suggests that life can continue in some hopeful way.
