"legend" is a dystopian story set in an authoritarian government called the republic and follows its darling and its greatest criminal. 

i've loved marie lu's writing since i read "warcross" in middle school but am now just finally getting around to reading "legend". lu's writing is so addictive and compelling and it really carried me through the story. "legend" was fast paced and filled with many twists and turns that made it a fun reading experience. i love how lu didn't shy away from the deaths that happen under authoritarian regimes and she has set up a terrifying enemy with the republic. i LOVED june and day, and while i thought their romance was rushed, i love the potential for their fractures and growth throughout the series. both stand as strong and compelling characters on their own (which is very nice) but together they are just as interesting. (also i love june SMMMM!! day is good as well but june comes from this place of high power and went through this journey of reestablishing her morals and it was so well done!!!!). 

sometimes the book was a bit too fast paced for me, and i felt as if some parts felt shallow as a result, but overall this b
