i purchased this book because of the gorgeous cover + sprayed edges and because i have always loved mermaids and sirens (and what better time to read a book about sirens than the summer!). i was not disappointed with this novel; the pacing was easy-going, the plot wasn’t entirely predictable, and the characters felt like real people. i loved the organization of the chapters–the switch from one pov to another felt very natural. mary + eliza have my heart <3
