The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom
3.0
Truth is light. Lies are shadows. Music is both.

Oh my god? This is the book that made me cry for a long time. If you're looking for that kind of read and you want to let out some tears, come and grab a copy.

Rating: ★★★
Honestly, I thought that I was going to rate this book higher. But I think I would sleep better at night leaving this a three-star read. While I enjoyed everything in it and how much it made me feel and wanted to reflect on life, I think that the story was something that could have dragged less on some parts.

The things that I like
☽ Music. I love how this was written in the POV of Music itself. Yes, you got it right. Music is the narrator of this book. I loved it. I loved the idea and the thoughts from this narration.
☽ Frankie's story. I am thoroughly all throughout invested in this story. To think that we did not even get a single POV from the lead character himself was saying something. And yet this story turned out to be great!
☽ The plot twists. I was just crying at the end of the book. I didn't think that I would get so emotional but I was! Actually, I already cried before we got even in the middle of the book. The characters are all so lovable that you could not help but root for them.

The things that I DID NOT like
☾ Magic strings. I wish there had been more information about this. Until the end of the story, I felt like I was grasping in the dark to make the connections. At one point I even forgot its existence.

In sum:
I think this is something that you should read if you want to think about life and make contemplations about the wrong decisions that you took. HAHA. Kidding. I love how this book was really about Frankie and how music changed his life. It's a very interesting story and you really get to witness him from birth to death.
I'll recommend this to people who need to have a good cry and to sit quietly and be transported to another world. This book will suck you right into Frankie's life. And oh, did I mention that I love Music as the narrator? HAHA of course, I did.
