I am glad that this series was a duology. It wrapped up nicely. The concept was very intriguing but the writing definitely utilized more of a tell us rather than a show up method which was unfortunate. The pacing was also wonky af. It's like we didn't find out critical information until a moment before it was needed like with the blood needed to undo Gideon's curse or even Seraphine being wisdom . This choice made the book largely predictable. But the plot was still enjoyable.
