I am constantly surprised with how good these classic are. Black Beauty is another top read for this year.
At usual, I was hesitant - it's a horse book and my brain went instantly to those cheesy girl meets horse type of story- but as history likes to repeat, I was proven wrong.
An emotion story about the life of a horse and how the cruelty or kindness of his owner plays the biggest factor into his quality of life and happiness. Black Beauty's story contained pieces that was heart wrenching with the way he was treated by men to moments where I wished he was able to stay at peace forever with kind owners.
I loved the theme throughout this book and there were many wise sentences. An amazing book is where the ending makes you feel like you left the main character at a safe place and this is the case with Black Beauty. He suffered through many hardships but finally, FINALLY, found a home that will love him and treat him kindly. An ending that made me finally relax and able to close the book with a light heart.
