Story is okay.
Writing is terrible.
The name dropping of serial killers and other notable true crime events was WAY over the top. Author is a true crime podcaster and used to be an autopsy technician. We get it. Adding details about serial killers from the past was completely unnecessary to the story. And the in depth science of being a medical examiner/autopsy technician is interesting at first, but when it’s repeated half a dozen times, it gets to be annoying.
