It is the first time ever I give a book only one star, I hated almost every single thing about it
I really don't get why so many people love it that much and reccomend it to everyone, without even talking about the trigger warnings, I had no idea that domestic abuse would be such a huge deal in that book because everyone is like "it is such a heartbreaking book omg read it"
I hated everything about the main character, first she was obsessed with Elen Degeneres and that is a huge red flag.
She spent her whole life talking down on her mother for staying with her abusive father and when she is in that situation she finds excuses like "he's not my father he's nice", I know how abusive relationship works on someone's brain because I've been in one BUT she spent her ENTIRE life witnessing it, how can she still not understand, it happened to me once, I won't let it happen again, that is why I was so mad everytime something happened and she found excuses.
Also her best friend was annoying and I swear the way she started working with her, this shit never happens in real life.
Really the only good thing about the book is Atlas. I don't even wanted Lily to end up with him because she doesn't deserve him.
I saw some people wanting to see Lily and Rhyle end up together still.. what tf is wrong with you all??? You read that damn book how can you think it is right for them to end up together after everything????
Overall this book brought me nothing but anger and disappoitment, I'm done trusting booktok.
