Wonderfully atmospheric.

Well written - as well as pretty snappy for a book published in 1895!

A fascinating insight into the time and Wells' aspirations for the future. Interesting, too, to read his own afterword written more than 30 years later, essentially trashing it as amateurish when it persists as a classic so many years later - especially as we still use so many of his ideas in time travel stories today. Oh alright. 5*.
