The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

4.0

"Nolite te bastardes carborundorum"

Bone-chilling? Yes. Thought-provoking? Yes. Haunting? Yes.

To say this book will haunt your thoughts and keep you thinking, can be an understatement. The themes of Paranoia and Betrayal are perfectly shown and justified through each turning page.

It bears a close resemblance to George Orwell's 1984 with the dystopian theme and grim setting, and the same sinking feeling you get when you read both these books. Yet Atwood's writing makes it feel like this can be the future.
