The Woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts
by Maxine Hong Kingston
Not my style. Part memoir, part folk stories / mythology, with a narrative that veered from one side to the other. In theory it should be more engaging and interesting because I should be able to relate to it more; in practice, maybe that was the problem -- the familiar territory just meant that it felt like a particularly garbled way to cover the same ground.
