“Happy Bloody Christmas” is a wonderful festive comedy caper, that truly takes you away from your own Christmas chores and stressful supermarket queuing, to a family that really do know how to botch a Christmas.  

Written by Jo Middleton, who’s well known for her humorous fiction, this book will make you laugh, cringe, astonished and amazed, and certainly doesn’t disappoint in the entertainment factor either. Although immensely unbelievable, there are a lot of relatable moments, especially for stressed out mothers at Christmas (or any time of the year). All the characters were such fun to read about, with the two police officers being in particular a pair of clowns! Jennie was a fantastic mate to the main character Anna and made the investigation into Santa’s murder all the more funnier. 

I’d recommend reading this book in the run up to Christmas, it really will make you feel better about yourself and the many never ending tasks to do this time of year. But it’s a book that is definitely worth reading, anytime of the year, so make sure it’s on your to buy list this Christmas. Great fun to be had by all!
