I first wanted to give this 4 stars - but I realize that I only wanted to do that because I'm depressed about the direction the story is heading (and the death of some characters I didn't want to die). But this book deserves 5 stars. It is so good. The magic system, the political intrigue, the friendships. I LOVE IT ALL.
