The women in this book!!! They are fckin DRAGONS!!! Good Lawd! The entire time I found myself inspired by their tenacity. The loyalty of the Red Guard had me awestruck — I loved how each of the women knew their part in the guard and worked together. They played to their strengths, there wasn’t any cattiness amongst the women. Instead they understood one another, they loved one another and worked together. 

This is the first epic feminist fantasy I’ve read in which the women don’t need a man to save them. The women save themselves and each other. I loved this book so much.
