The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

4.0

'The Book Thief' had me weeping! I really felt for Liesel and the rest of the characters in this book, and enjoyed reading her story told by death himself?! I can honestly say I've never read a book told in Death's perspective, and I really liked it. I wouldn't mind reading more books like this. In 'The Book Thief' Death feels like an almost human narrator. He is fascinated by humans and color, and wonders why humans can be capable of both so much ugliness and beaty.

One of my favorite things about this book besides the narrator being Death himself is the friendship between Liesel and Rudy. I absolutely adored those two and loved reading about them getting into mischief together. It's safe to say by the end of this story I was a complete wreck and could not stop crying!
