a book with a story this compelling shouldn't have taken me so long to finish but it did lol is it a skill issue on my end or the author's? who knows

The Heiress Effect by Courtney Milan

this book was okay, a bit fun and a bit cute! i think other people would definitely like this but i think it's just not for me. i will say that this book has a bit more substance than other historical romances; unfortunately i love the brainrot romance that requires no thinking.

characters were lovely! they had actual motivations and personalities unique to them. 

Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas

the fact that sara killed a man and she barely even thought about it again afterwards is incredibly funny and a testament to the writing of this book LOL. also, i am once again annoyed at the last arc like whyyyy must there always be a conflict that is either near-death or kidnapping in the last 30 pages of the book.. it makes no sense!!! still enjoyed it tho

Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas

fav so far among all the historical romances i've read ! really fun, a good time, and just so lovely seeing the hathaway family

i didn't understand the need to have harry be kidnapped by the last ten pages lol probably my only rife with this book

Any Duchess Will Do by Tessa Dare

too much smut for my liking he he but the banter and chemistry between the two leads was so good! build-up was great and not too rushed.

very fun book!

Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

she's fun.. she's cute.. needed a bit more yearning imo! felt like everything moved a bit too quickly but i guess the lack of background we've had for these characters is at fault to an extent (i imagine i will be more attached to andrew or even edward's story)

so much lost potential but it was still fun. i giggled i swung my legs back and forth.

a cozy read, perfect for no thoughts head empty just here for the vibes
