This book is quite obviously a classic of our time. Now, did it absolutely *need* to be almost 900 pages long? No.

Anyway, all the characters feel very real and very different from one another. The storyline is interesting enough, though some parts feel a lot slower than others, where I think the main plot twist saves it.

I'm also gonna quietly mention that it took me 3 months of off-and-on reading to finish this book, which is the main reason this isn't a 5-star rating. Still, I liked it a lot, but will not be re-reading any time soon.

my GOD is this dramatic.

if we overlook the pure simp pick me energy of the narrator, its a good fast pace book that connects you to the characters surprisingly quickly.

its very short, so if you're looking for characters who are lowkey delusional,  I'd recommend ;)

alsooo, the narrator addresses the reader directly a couple times, which i found very cool

You really have to be in the mood for an "academic read" if you want to enjoy this book.

I loved reading this along to the audiobook read by the author, it enhanced the characters so much (e.g. Bunny's accent).

Honestly, you can tell it's very well researched material, and the author's knowledge and passion for the topic comes through beautifully.

Reading this while also in my first year of university was a gut punch to say the least btw. :D

I saw someone describe this book as drinking wine with the narrator, David, and that is precisely what it is.

Also, it is very interesting to see the writing style change, depending on the information the narrator shares with us. As soon as we get too deep, he pulls away. Very cool detail.

One day I’ll weep for this. One of these days I’ll start to cry.
