the only story of the four that i liked was "Husband and Wife". I have nothing to critique about that, loved it! But the rest...where do I start? The fact that in "The sisters" , the older sister gave up her whole career and life in tokyo to follow her sisters dream just felt so sad. I actually thought she would get mad at her younger sister and maybe spill her coffee, turn into a ghost or anything of that sort. In the end she just accepted the life she actively tried to avoid. Also, "Mother and Child" - the part where they were talking about how her husband wouldn't be able to decide !between an unborn baby! and his wife????? that is such a simple choice! obviously you would choose your wife, you can always try for another baby if she'd had gotten healthier or adopt
