1 point for novelty/originality, never read anything like this
another point for the prolific amount of published writing this author has done, if not my taste obviously they are catering to an interested audience

Did not finish book. Stopped at 78%.
While it was interesting just to see what happened next, i never read anything like this, ultimately i started to lose interest since it was the level of interest of a car crash ahead on the highway -- "exciting when you're looking but then when you look away for too long, its already forgotten"

Brendan + Cillian

I've got to say this is the best cnc MM romance i have read so far. the author is so respectful and realistic in what Cillian goes through, how Branden as an "older gay" would be different from a "younger gay", and how cnc is worlds apart from actual non consent. the prose is very strong (definitely someone who is used to crafting words and feelings out of ink on a paper) and its kind of flowery... like, it almost reminded me of the romantic bare-chested long hair in the wind romance novels of the past. And while they're literally making a moving of a similar timeline in the book, it gives off the gothic romance vibes but in a modern setting and instruments/obstacles.
i would also suggest to read the author afterword 1 (MUST READ if you only read one) and 2 to learn a little more context about the author and the story(s) they write.
This would be good for anyone wanting to have an emotional sensual languid sort of love story with secret shenanigans to be spilled at a later date, an age gap (which i'm not necessarily a fan and i not only OK it, i liked it), and an asian male lead that keeps that "asian element" with him throughout the whole book and not just in the starting description of him. ;) Im definitely going to follow along with this author, their storytelling has me hooked.

This was a really interesting read, I had never read an "amnesia romance" before - only seen the kdramas and tv shows. But this is a wonderful way of getting the amnesia drama plot movements but with the emotional deep dive into the characters/roles as how context and therefore response can be so different for people. I really thought it was an emotionally intellectual roller coaster, the only kinda drawback/extra element I didn't think was TOTALLY needed was the
paranormal sliver in there with reapers and Death and Cal really being a reaper who was friends with Death and then took over Cal's body, etc
so I could have done without that extra element but it also wasn't too disruptive to me despite me having that opinion.
Its an interesting read if you want high emotional high contextual scenarios of "WhatWouldYouDo" with a MM romance pairing as the catalyst.

This was an excellent read. It DOES have a heaping overflowing amount of hurt/comfort with Gavin as the tortured hero with black cat vibes and Beck as his separated golden retriever childhood friend who is going to save his friend/save the man he loves. Gavin's abusive father is a WTF kind of character but the author does a good job of keeping you suspended in the moments with Gavin and Beck that you forget how vile this man is until he's brought up again. <-- excellent writing and handling. And I didn't even realize it was 400+ pages because it just kept sucking me in with the kdrama highs and lows as the two navigate their own past, their shared past, and their potential shared future.

Gavin is demisexual
and its handled in a wonderful way where that is a fact about his sexuality but the major texture and context is his love/attraction is through all of the thoughts and actions from Beck and his past that moreso "show" rather than "tell" his demisexuality; although its literally spelled out for a short second in the story (possibly because this is still a "new" sexuality type(?)). Its a realistic read with a lot of feels in all kinds of directions, and I'll definitely remember their story and this author.

This was a short and sweet emotional but not too sappy steamy story of Leo and Ethan being friends but then a fake dating scenario leads Leo to discover he doesnt want to pretend anymore. The pacing was good and it had some nice steam for 60 pages of reading. The two main characters are friends with one yearning and one just chalking it up to being friends, and the feeling-tensing of the before and during the fake dating was well executed and gave me backstory while also moving the plot along. Ill definitely be reading more of this author.

I know this is a MM romance book but the demisexuality of Lauren't character development and how Isaac handled his past in the present made me feel like it was more than just a romance, it was moreso a story for anyone of solidarity and solace for anyone who experienced any of the themes in this book. There are all kinds of trigger warnings, mostly in an emotional presentation and focus, but they are handled with grace and kindness. I think that this book would make a lot of people who related to the themes feel seen and therefore validated. I thought this was very tenderly written and made me feel the softer maternal feelings to comfort (and hair pet) these characters, with some slight "Hux sentiment" aka hit the person in question.

The themes are: abusive parents, horrible coming out stories/experiences, sex work, bullying (ignorant and blatant), found family, internal self work/development, and eating disorder.

This author is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine for the MM Romance category. The characters become so well rounded as you read because of the energy she interjects into telling their story.

And did you know that a male femme top is called a BLOUSE? Whether its true or not, its an example of you're constantly whipped into another direction/tone; its fun and exhilarating, and mimics Saint and Demon/Damon's dynamic perfectly. Blood rush of all kinds reading this book. ;)

This was a very sweet quick read about a boy and a girl, opposites attract trope, that go on a road trip that goes awry. The author is very good at casting a suite bubble around the world her characters live in. It’s a contemporary romance, so there is the usual mindless elevation as the characters are rich and their only issues are from their personal world, but I love how Will actually calls that out several times. Jules is a little more of the classic girl who doesn’t want to be burned by love so dressed in black and is angry - a trope, but also that was me at 17. Maybe some critique to Jules since she is later 20s but acts like a high schooler. Will is little better but gets more spotlight on his growth and maturation.
Overall I would recommend as a short sweet male/female road trip one bed story with a Christmas theme.

to escape his parental abuse, eli spends the money he's been saving to go on a week long field trip. he ends up bunked with his high school bully, damon. by the end of the week eli is falling in love with his old bully and damon is inviting eli to live with him. it ends with marriage proposal.

The writing was a bit simplistic, with the plot moving fast and without much in its way. the parents are abusive but brought in just to give eli and damon something to bond over, and then never heard from again. eli is a cute character but weakly built, same for damon - there are sketches of who they are but its mostly from trope development rather than the writer's intentional thought. there is some nice spice but thats about the most that i really liked from this book.
