Not the best read for me, the humiliation was a little extreme without any relationship or softness, sans some weird cuddling at the end. I know it was a novella but this was a little too much "personal fantasy" vibes and it wasn't mine. The writing itself was good, without typos and made good rhythmic word choices for the scene(s), just not my cup of tea.

shortest little blurb, it almost felt like a writing exercise in how it focused on one sexual scene with the main character with little detail on either side of that scene. The spacing was also double spaced so it seemed like there was more than there really was.

There are good steamy scenes but otherwise there is little development on the relationship or the connection between Kyle and Henry. Its all sex all the time and just as we are about to get some edification on how they really feel about each other and why (besides the sexual perfect matchness) it ends - and its the end of the series. i only really continued to read all of the heavy (almost repetitive in the volume of) sexual scenes because i thought there would be some conclusion or [any] development of their relationship/situationship.

A continuation of Kyle and Henry. Kyle meets Henry at his house which leads to some play time with a butt plug and gagging lesson for Henry. Lots of delicious dom/sub dynamics and dirty talk between them too *le sigh* Then Henry learns from Kyle’s client which forces him to Kyle’s house where he learns Kyle’s sister was killed as punishment for his dad’s deeds. As punishment for Henry’s assumptions, Kyle tries out his new spanking bench with him. They both enjoy it and still plan to meet up the next day at the Club. There is a wonderful library scene (not a regular library) at the Club and afterwards they set a date for date, to actually talk maybe (?)

Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.
I just didn’t get into the story. The graphics were ok, they reminded me of early 2000s gothic for kids aesthetic. Like a sketchier younger kid friendlier Emily the Strange gone with Transylvanian hotel movie vibes. 2017 publication so it came out around the right time for the movie. Otherwise kids into that aesthetic or artists looking for a spooky very friendly it worth a look.

They grew up as friends but then friendship turned to ignorance which then turned into torment. David is the bully and Henry is the victim. 5 years after high school graduation David is back from England. David is a rich grey eyed blonde uncircumcised British-accent 6’3 lawyer and Henry is a green eyed 6’ son-of-a-baker shorter fire chief. They meet at a sex club, Henry blindfolded at first but then not and they both realize the new predicament they’re in.

I really liked the writing, it gave personality to both of the characters although it ends on a cliffhanger, I have KU and was able to "keep on reading".

I actually really liked this book because of the way its written. Its a MM humiliation bully erotica set up with Kyle being the bully and Nick being the smaller victim. Its a little tropey, smaller guy vs larger guy, and it went a step further by adding a "small dick" to Nick's character. This [specific kink] was not as much my thing, but I liked that Kyle clearly thought the line between sexy humiliation and actual shameful humiliation. And Nick had a lot of internal thought which made him seem realistic, relatable, and made the humiliation kink seem like a kink rather than an abuse victim's cycle.

Some quotes that I really liked that separated kink from abuse are:
  • It wasn’t as bad when his friends chimed in, but that delicious burst of humiliation made everything tingle when they teased me, too.
  • The couple of times a teacher had heard a few of the remarks, it had taken some quick thinking to keep it from being reported as bullying.
  • “So you don’t mind?” His question was hesitant. It was easy to guess how mixed up he was about it. I was in the same boat.
  • My only goal for the date was for us to have some time as a real couple and not just doing kinky shit.
  • His words were sexy, but behind them, I could hear the unasked question. We both might love it when he got rough and made me feel so incredibly dirty, but he never wanted to push me too far. I had my safewords. I knew he’d stop if I wasn’t having fun.

Their dialogue gives some playful banter back and forth, but mostly its where they are "regular guys/friends" and where you learn more of the "everyday life" details about the characters, like how their parents take the news of their sexuality.

Overall its a good read for those looking for the humiliation kink and bully trope for MM. And quite sweet too: "I’d found the one person who could look deep inside of me at every crazy, dirty fantasy and still want me. Still love me. The one guy who saw beyond the quiet, nervous loner and made him feel special. Made me feel special."

My first 1 star rating. The writing was very cheesy and I did not get why the author would cuss in some scenarios and then not in others. The word choice was constantly pulling me out of the moment and there seemed to be more specific "play" coming from Trevor without much internal confirmation/connection within Daniel (to me) which just made some parts feel abusive vs kinky.

Overall a meh read, I liked the steam but I did not care for the wording used, it kept pulling me out of the moment with "wah? enh" -- but the scenario was fun and exciting to read. Although the talk of pool sex at the end was totally a negative moment for me, pool sex is notoriously UTI/pain city. I dont like the spreading of this fantasy when it literally can hurt people when they try to fulfill it. :?
