I love the real-ness of it all. I would read this over and over again. This is my first Marchetta, and now I just have to read

For now let me give you this:
“Do you think people have noticed that I'm around?"
"I notice when you're not. Does that count?”
“Oh God, Frankie, I breathe in rhythm with that man. You think that's not my flesh and blood after all these years?”
“Have you ever seen The Last of the Mohicans?"
"I love it."
"Really?" I'm over the moon. We share a movie. Finally, we're on the same planet.
...
"What are you looking at, sir?"
"I'm looking at you, miss," (A The Last of the Mohicans line).
And favorite quotes:
"The truth doesn't set you free, you know. It makes you feel awkward and embarrassed and defenseless and red in the face and horrified and petrified and vulnerable. But free? I don't feel free. I feel like shit."
“It's a weird smile, but it reaches his eyes and I bottle it. And I put it in my ammo pack that's kept right next to my soul and Justine's spirit and Siobhan's hope and Tara's passions. Because if I'm going to wake up one morning and not be able to get out of bed, I'm going to need everything I've got to fight this disease that could be sleeping inside of me.”
This was the first Sparks novel I read, when I was 14 or 15. My views on love has changed considerably by then, my taste on books as well, but I would still read this book at least once a year. I'm 22 now.
This book is short, it has a simple premise, it's probably the only Nicholas Sparks novel you should read. (I read other novels of his but nothing measures up to A Walk to Remember).
It's light, it takes me back to an age of innocence, and yeah, maybe I would like a Landon Carter for myself.
