It was such an enjoyable read. It was my first book by Gaiman and boy did this book did not disappoint.

I really enjoy the magical realism and the narration by a child which add a lot to it. The fact that you never know which is facts or fiction is something I really enjoy. Will definitely read some of his other work for sure.

The only downside and it was my own fault was that sometimes I didn't read at all for a few days or weeks, and it was really hard sometimes to go back into the story.

I listened to the audiobook in French on the Radio-Canada app and wow was it good. As someone who was bullied in her youth it was a very powerful read. The fact that the story also involves Jane Eyre as Hélène is reading it and making parallel to her life is very good too.

The only complaint that I have is that Hélène is waiting it seems that someone in her life will love her as she is. Which is not a bad thing but I think she should love herself first.

Tw: transphobia

I decided to pick up more books in French and even more from Québec and I'm blown away by this one.

Even though it's based on a transphobic murder in the USA of a teenage girl, Boulerice makes it seems like it could very well be something happening in Quebec with our way of talking.

Which makes it like it's something that could happen anywhere in the world.

It really made me emotional.

The F*ck It Diet: Eating Should Be Easy

Caroline Dooner

DID NOT FINISH

Dnf for me at 20 ish % percent. While I liked the overall message of self-acceptance and that diet like Atkins and weight watchers and diet culture in general is there to make you feel bad about yourself and profit off of those insecurities is great.

The major problem I had with the book is, that if you're overweight (like myself) and you would like to change your relationship with food and body image but also lose some weight to be healthier not at all skinnier or a certain goal weight ,the author basically tells you that you should eat whatever and whenever you feel like it. Which might be dangerous for some people, myself included, that you might not make the right choices of food.

I feel like the overall message was good but the execution not so much.

Dnf. I was so excited to read this book since it's a paranormal romance (and gosh I like those books). Sadly I dnf it at the 20% mark since I was not interested in the story nor I felt like I would love it.

1.5 stars. I dnf it at the 20% mark. I got this for free this summer on Kindle and boy I would've never paid for this.

It reminds me of Twilight which is not necessarily a bad thing, but the main character love interest was awful and overall a douchebag.

I read the kindle free sample, and I was so bored. It had all the elements that usually is a yes for me,romance, time travel demons and witches but it seems so meh. That I decided that I wouldn't continue reading it.
