I can't rate this critically. I remember when the book came out & my mom buying it for me. It heavily affected me as a preteen reader. While it is a little dated, it was an emotional and fun reread. So glad I decided to read it again.

I tried to separate this book from Agatha Christie's because I mean Agatha Christie! I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't read the original. I liked that the teens weren't dumbed down. It was an enjoyable, fast paced read.

I really wanted to like this. All of the characters were so unlikeable, especially the main character. Sometimes it felt like it was equally flashbacks & current time. There were small discrepancies that made me think there was going to be twists, but they never came.

Wow! I loved this book. As someone that left behind an abusive relationship, I get the paranoia. It really was an exciting read. Gitty gives 4 stars (We love you Fine)

The beginning was very slow for me. I found the hidden city to be very interesting & it picked up from there. The author is very good at giving each character their own voice.

It was impressive how Collins went from likeable character in Hunger Games to Snow. At times he is totally sympathetic, bordering on likeable to the absolutely horrible person we all are accustomed to.
