Beautiful written and was fully pulled in by the story. If you are not fully engrossed in it after the first hundred pages this book might not be for you. I found this book to be mostly character driven and I was fascinated watching how they evolved over time into who they would become. I loved seeing how the three women had their stories connected by the end. I also really love the vampire lore that was used in this story, very much felt like a nod to other work in the genre well bringing it’s own spin to it.

This was a book I held off on reading for a while now. Going into it I couldn’t wrap my head around a world where humans becoming a food source was a more viable option than just not eating meat at all. The control factor wasn’t even something I considered. How by doing so the world had been stripped of its humanity and compassion for one another making us easier to control. The last line of this book as well shook me to my core.
