This where the overarching plot comes into play with the fiend getting released, and Grimalkin gets introduced. Can't wait for more Grimalkin!

I liked this, I did. I just wish it was more fleshed out, even for a short story: a lot of illustrations, though good, make this much shorter than the 78 pages (of my ebook edition) implies.

I kinda have a question, though: When the MC became a ghost bound to the prison, didn't he ever encounter Nettie? What's that like, being stuck with your murderer? Is it scary, or awkward? Do they bump into each other in the hall?

I really love the point at which Grimalkin enters the story, and it's easily a 4* read then, but it otherwise stays pretty strong at 3* until when it's almost over. A solid entry, just not my favorite.

Really this just wasn't for me. The anime started to grow on me by the time season 4 rolled around, but my feelings ranged from hate to men for the first 3 seasons and this just brought back my earlier dislike. I like magic and powers, but I'm not really into the superpower type of heroes, in any medium. If I'm going to dream big about crimefighters, then I prefer Iron Man and Batman, billionaires who actually do shit to help humanity. That's just as far out as flame throwing and anti-gravity, but a preferable scenario.

Finished! To be honest, I didn't like this installment as much as the last three. I didn't dislike it, mind you, and I'm following GR's "I liked it" star meaning; things just felt more intense in the other books.
SpoilerThe final showdown wasn't what I thought it would be.

SpoilerIt made me sad that Arya wouldn't join Eragon in caring for the dragon eggs, when she had previously devoted her life to such things and is a new Rider herself. I can overlook the lack of romance between them, but Eragon spent so much of his life as a Rider with her, and her refusal to stand by him was disheartening.

Overall, I enjoyed this series quite a bit, and look back on it with fondness, especially the other three books.
