I love this universe and author... but I won't lie- I was kind of disappointed... We were perfectly set up for another Hunting Adeline type story..
Instead, everything was just.... skipped? I felt like so much was glossed over. I didn't have the best connection to cage & I don't understand her leaving Layla the day before she was starting over in a nice new life.... She could have easily taken Layla with her and had her name changed.

Anyways, with all the complaints- I did genuinely enjoy the book. Molly was amazing and gave a good look into how trauma taints you for years to come.
Her inability to distance herself from her past is so familiar to so many trauma survivors. I loved the reaction of Molly meeting Layla and her adoptive parents. It was a realistic view at how reunification can be tough on everyone involved.
and ofc, the book was SEXY.

This book had been on my TBR for a minute and I am so glad I finally picked it up! Masked men and murder? I'm there! Especially when its vengeance against an abusive family (#daddyproblems) I need a Ramon so bad! Someone so obsessed.

I will admit.. the disappearing for years was odd. Like, It was Ramon. He was constantly fighting- She should have thought to call the jail FIRST. I'd have thought to call them first before the hospital, honestly.

This is a guilty pleasure book for me- I had to buy the special edition because I loved it so much.

Alexis.... I NEED an Alexis in my life. I didn't think these books could get any funnier- but here they are! I can't get over the "
cinnamon challenge
" scene xD I laughed so hard my roommate asked what I was laughing about. Definitely check this out- perfect for a super super quick 1 sitting read full of smut and comedy!

I HAVE NEVER LAUGHED SO MUCH DURING A BOOK!  I -ate this book up-!!! I read it in one sitting, immediately sucked in the the sense of humor and tone of the story. It was sexy and lighthearted and humorous- Everything you could want in a cute fantasy romantic comedy. I can't get over how well the personality for each character shines through and the representation is amazing!

I did feel the need to give 4 stars because I felt the "big bad" could have been a bit bigger of a challenge and felt too easily overcome.

With that said, I am excited to see where we go in the future for conflict. This cast of characters is an hilarious time and I highly recommend reading (actually, LISTEN TO IT! The Narrator is HILARIOUS. She conveys the emotion so well and definitely adds to the hilarity of the book with her amazing portrayal of Cinnamon and Felix (At least, I'm pretty sure it's the same narrator for Felix))

I will never look a mayo the same again... I was constantly torn on my feelings for Alex. His refusal to deal with his brother was INFURIATING at times. Lauren blew my mind in the writing for this. The descriptors were so amazing- I could feel the gritty concrete under my feet as I read, the dinge of the house on my body, and I had to FIGHT gagging over the mayo. It was like I was there, silently rooting for Ophelia. Definitely check the trigger warnings- because it gets crazy.

Tho… I wish they had been able to save Sam…
