In My Dreams I Hold a Knife by Ashley Winstead

Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.
This main character is someone I would never want to know or be forced to come across. She came off as pretentious, and as I started to doubt whether I could resume reading this book and hope for some kind of character development, she only became more insufferable. I just couldn't do it, and so this became a DNF for me. No offense to anyone that may like this book, but for me, I do not have the time, energy, or desire to waste on a character so developmentally and spiritually low-level to weigh down my soul. I just cannot.

Everything and more I had hoped for.

"He needed her like air in the void. Three years, twenty, a hundred and five...it didn't matter. His love for her would outlast the very stars. When it did, they'd still be shining in the dark."

I love thrillers/mystery, but I feel that constant reliance on shoving sex in people's faces is frankly lazy writing.

I did like this text, but I found the language to be biased, even if I do agree with much of the text. I just feel that an academic text should allow for readers to decide for themselves based on fact without subjective language.

Kind of a real letdown. The ideas were there, but the clichés, predictability, and characterization turned me off/pissed me off.
