”The truth was, you’re happier when you’re needed and stronger when you’re loved.”

OKAY HEARR ME OUT I WAS TRULY GONNA GIVE THIS A HIGH RATING UNTIL

1. The “let’s mess around solely for a man’s pleasure and ignorantly fetishise lesbians who are an oppressed group”

And few others.

But I did like Misconduct. It was sexy and interesting.

”Whatever the birthday girl wants.”

There was a lot I didn’t like about Birthday Girl. The misogynist views and idealisms, mainly. And so much sexualising of Jordan. And constantly talking about her “amazing bod”. Ok chill, Pike. Jordan ain’t that great either, sure April hooked up with married people but it takes 2 to cheat and Cole cheated on her anyway. (I feel like a bitch for saying this, it’s not her fault but I don’t think she should’ve whorified April)
Yeah I didn’t like this much. The smut was cool. But that’s all it was. I rarely dislike fictional men, but I dislike Pike.

Fifty-seven days to not need you
Fifty-seven times to give up on you
Fifty-seven steps away from you,
Fifty-seven nights of nothing but you.”

I went into reading Punk 57 with very low expectations, considering the horrible and problematic views on a non-dark romance book. But I actually quite liked it, maybe it’s because the standard I set was so low, idk. We’ll see. Let’s unpack.

Ryen. I actually kind of understood this girl. The superficial bully bitch armour to protect the lone outcast child. It makes sense. And I think the drama and the super cliche incidents fit the high school vibe. Honestly, I didn’t particularly love Ryen but I definitely don’t hate her. I get it, is all.

Misha. I like Misha. Maybe I’m biased Cs he’s a Grayson. (I love my Devil’s Night boys, ok) Misha isn’t all that great but he’s superficially attractive so that’s cool.

I honestly wished there was more complexity to the characters but then I remind myself it’s set in high school. Giving these teens the benefit of the doubt. And just to remind everyone, there was no sexual content involving minors. Misha and Ryen were both 18. (Pretty Damn young but you get the gist of it)

Ok that’s it from me. Was it a great book? No. Was the smut good? Yes.

"Be Lilith," the girls said.
Athos pulled the Red Death over her eyes, all of us setting off as she whispered. “Never Eve."

Oh wow holie. This was a great end to the series. I can now say for sure that Will & Kai are my faves out of the entire lot. So much to unpack but nightfall was probably the most interesting and least misogynistic one out of all 4.

”He gave me venom”

I loved this. Darling Venom’s probably my best read of the year. (So far) I loved everything about it. (I did have my issues which we’ll get to later)

Kellan. I really rooted for Kellan. It shattered me what happened to him. I thought he was wonderful, I still believe so. His strength was formidable.

Charlie. I see so much of myself in Charlie. Or the person I used to be at least. And that, hit close to home. I loved Charlie’s need to care for people, her concert for Kellan and most importantly her sarcasm and sense of humour. What I found most admirable though, is her ferociousness and determination in being there for her loved ones.

Tate. I truly disliked him initially. But he took me by surprise. I admired Tate. The way he cared for Kellan and the things he did for Kellan. Just Tate in general.

What I had issues with:
• Tate instantly thinking of railing Charolette. (Like cmon man,)

Overall, I really enjoyed this. Took me on an entire rollercoaster ride.

“Ugly love becomes you.
 Consumes you.

I definitely liked this more than I did It Ends With Us. I do however feel severely underwhelmed. CoHo’s meant to rip your heart out and make you sob days.

I did not.

I truly will not like Miles, I will not justify his actions.
I believe Tate couldn’t get anymore lovesick.

But I will say that I loved the way the reality of how trauma forms and changes a person. I appreciated this.
