decided to dnf because the mental anguish I experience every time I read 'woman and non binary people' when she really means 'women and non binary people I treat as women' will be too much

I loved this book, its logic was so clear while being a comprehensive look at the problems with all manner of paid work and the relationships between jobs of different levels of bullshit. Most of the content makes me feel pretty hopeless, but also by laying out the problem so clearly it helps me think that it is solvable. And of course the last chapter is particularly hopeful and offers up UBI as an achievable solution. Definitely the kind of book everyone should read (I can dream) and I will definitely read David Graeber's other works.

I'm so disappointed :'((( this started out strong and introduced a lot of interesting themes but ended up not following through on any of it and being emotionally distant and boring. There was no point where I thought Anna's affection for Leviathan was believable at all, and it felt like any relationship they had outside of business happened somewhere off the page. Seeing a lot of reviews talking about the grey morality in this book which was one of the main parts which started well and then got ignored. Definitely not well executed and not even an original concept to anyone who has experienced more than one piece of superhero media in their life.
