This book took me forever to get through.. at first. The start was very slow and didn’t seem like it would culminate in much of anything by the end. I set it down before I made it halfway through and didn’t touch it for six months. When I returned, determined to finish, I quickly discovered the second half of this book, which is worth any sort of impression the first half might leave on you. Not a book I regret reading in the slightest.
I was not prepared for this. I thought I was and I was not. I’m just going to go on crying now.
