pretty solid comedy writing when there was writing at all! i just really didn't like the format of this. i wish it had been solely photos or narrative with photos mixed in. the captions were weird and not the vibe. and the random filler listicles were strange as well. nicole is too funny and talented for this to be her final draft! but i still enjoyed it to some degree and will be keeping it on my shelf because she pretty

could not put this down. the main character, august, is such a perfect self-insert for me (also a gay virgo with no idea what to do with my life) so i got invested QUICK. then when the story got deep into her subway crush Jane’s ~mystery~ i was so enthralled and curious about where the author could take it. also the sex scenes??? wow. incredible work.

absolutely loved this book. no notes for miss TJR. the ending was just so rewarding and i’m so proud of the main cast of characters. the concept is also really cool, i thought it was a great way to tell the story of a family.

some of the most engaging writing i’ve ever read. i’m not very interested in food or very invested in the emotions of death but i was still so compelled by the story and just zoomed through it. and fuck her weirdo ass daddy.

really phenomenal writing, and such a page-turner. i felt so connected to the characters and god do i hope there’s a sequel because i agree with the other reviewers that the last chapter felt a bit rushed and left the story unfinished. i love queer cowboys!!!!!!!!

i did really enjoy this book! think i just expected it to go above and beyond the typical celebrity memoir and it didn’t. really great comedic writing, she’s a fantastic storyteller and artist. but i could’ve done without the random listicles and that one drawing of kendrick lamar. still love u though abbi <3

not very into this book. the story is fantastic, it’s a classic for a reason, but the writing is just unbearable to me. the greta gerwig adaption tells the story better than 600 pages of lectures from miss louisa. also jo is gay cry about it haters!!!
