I really enjoyed this book! It kind of gave me slight Shatter Me vibes just with the Gifted & Resistance side of things which i loved! Even though Gryphon was an ass at the start, in the last quarter of the book he really started to redeem himself and became swoon-worthy! When he was in Olis dorm and bought her supplies & an eftpos cardšŸ§Žā€ā™€ļøšŸ§Žā€ā™€ļøšŸ¦‹šŸ¦‹
I didnā€™t like how self-centred most of the bonds were. like why couldnā€™t they have taken the time to get to know Oli and understand why she ran away?? Atlas did that with no problem, so why couldnā€™t the others?
The ending was a bit too fast and even thought itā€™s said to be left on a cliffhanger, itā€™s not the best cliffhanger iā€™ve read. i think there could have been more drama added, even if it was just an extra chapter. I also wish we got more background of Oli, and an explanation on how the Bonds work and some more info on the Resistance ect..
Oli is an absolute witty, strong, sarcastic boss bitch! she slayed the TT basement course, literally wiped the floor with those bitchesšŸ˜‹ i loved her so much! i do have one thing i didnt like about her and that was how much she said ā€œfreakingā€. i swear it was said at least once on every page :| like girl, just swear, weā€™re all adults herešŸ¤Ø but there were also parts where the ā€œfreakingā€ wasnā€™t even necessary so that annoyed me a lot!
Overall i really enjoyed the book, i would have finished it a few days earlier but i was waiting for queen ashley to catch upšŸ‘Æā€ā™€ļø but i ended up finishing it without her anyway LOL

Absolutely loved this book!  the tension in the beginning was top tier and i loved every moment!  read it in 2 days and could not get enough.
i liked that the two main characters had depth to them and weren't boring!

i read this as a standalone, but definitely recommend reading the first 2 books to enhance your understanding of the other characters and to have a better knowledge of them.  But if you dont want to read the first two, then youll be fine reading this as a standalone.

thank you so much sage for sending me and arc in exchange for an honest review!  i cant wait to see where the book goes and what happens next :)

Five Survive is a young adult thriller set in an RV over 8 hours. Six high school students borrow the RV for a road trip on their spring break. When they make it to their campsite for the night, their tires get blown out and they start being threatened by a sniper outside who wants to uncover a secret one of them is holding ontoā€¦
When I heard Holly Jackson was releasing a new thriller series I was SO excited! I absolutely loved her AGGGTM series; the twists and turns were incredible, and its the series that got me hooked into reading!
But unfortunately this book didnā€™t live up to the hype. It took until about 40% through to start getting me a bit interested in what was happening. However, even after that 40% mark, it took until about 70% for the real juicy stuff to start happening, and in my opinion, thats just getting on too late in the book! If I hadnā€™t of loved Hollys AGGGTM series, I definitely would have ended up DNFing this book at the 40% mark. I also couldnā€™t get myself to connect with the characters that much.
A few things I did enjoy was the plot twist about what happened to Reds mother. I wonā€™t go into details, bc spoilers haha, but I definitely wasnā€™t expecting that! And also when the mole was revealed I was a little bit shocked, buuutt it was kind of obviousā€¦ But that was probably the only shocking things that happened :(
I feel like the book ended very quickly too and it almost had an ending too perfect?? Everything was wrapped up in like 20 pages so we didnā€™t get much insight into what happened after this whole ordeal.
So, to wrap up.. When reading this book you can definitely tell its young adult. So if you havenā€™t read any thrillers, or if youā€™re a young person (13-15), then Iā€™d say thus book would definitely be a good place to start experimenting thrillers. I otherwise wouldnā€™t really recommend it :((((

This is definitely my fav book of the series. The characters growth was just amazing! i loved seeing Pan finally find himself at the end of the book. And seeing Kas and Bash get back to their true selvesšŸ„¹ it just warmed my little heart.
Tilly had such a redemption! sheā€™s been a bit of a bitch throughout the series haha but i loved seeing her redeem herself.
Vane and WinniešŸ˜© i will never get over them! theyā€™re such the power couple and i will be mourning them for months to comešŸ’”  Winnie is such a role model! sheā€™s an absolute badass boss bitch, i admire her so so much. she had such a terrible upbringing, and itā€™s so lovely to see she finally got the love and stability she deserves.
Once again, Nikki put me through all the emotions. heartache, anger, love, grief. she really knows how to pull on your heartstrings :(
This series has changed my life and i will forever be thinking about these beautiful, powerful charactersšŸ’ž
